The 2007 test was the first time Amateur Radio operators were assisting the three affected cities of San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and San Clemente. Running three seprate nets from each EOC, volunteer netcontrol operators maintained comminications with each city's siren location. After each of three tests were conducted a quick roll call was done to report the status of each siren. Southern California Edison conducted the NRC mandated exersize with persision and had repair teams in the area to handle any problems in the field. The local HAMs in the area were from various groups that helped with staffing each siren.
Special thanks goes out to SOARA the South Orange Amateur Radio Association based out of near-by Mission Viejo. They provided NetControl operator (Dave Seroski KG6QCI) and several club members to 20 towers in San Clemente.
Tri-Cities RACES Group supplied the remainder of the operators in Dana Point and San Juan.
NetControl for Dana Point (Kathy Visser AE6UT) was in charge at the DP EOC.
We will keep the roster sheets and timeline document on this page until the 2009 test.
